The demands and challenges for the power electronics industry will keep getting higher and higher. We have to use the energy more and more efficient. TranSiC is developing power transistors with lower losses and higher operating temperatures. To be able to do that we use Silicon Carbide. Silicon Carbide is a hard diamond like material, but we dont use it for the shining look. The bandgap and the thermal conductivity is higher than for silicon. This makes it possible to do high speed, high voltage and high temperature transistors, the next generation of power transistors. |
